carry only the Pilot - it even fits into the back of a car, no trailer required!
Looking forward to the 2018 flying season with plenty more exhilarating Hopper flight experiences.
TFG History
The history and association with aviation in our family dates back to the 1950's with our Grandfather W/O & Captain Alexander Turner flying a number of craft during his service with RAF Transport command both in the UK and Far East including the Handley Page Hastings and Blackburn Beverley.
Many of his flying hours were logged in Beverley's, his particular aircraft designated 'W' call-sign 'Whiskey' based at Dishforth (Yorkshire), Aden & Changi .
Our Hot Air Balloon Team now carries the Beverley as part of the emblem and we re-registered the balloon G-WBEV as a mark of respect and added new 'Beverley' artwork.
More Info at:
http://www.beverley-association.org.uk/Dad (W/O Tim Turner) continued the tradition and joined the RAF in 1964 as an Air Traffic Controller serving at Odiham, Aden, Sopley, West Raynham, Watton, Coltishall, Abingdon, Laarbruch (Germany) and finally LATCC West Drayton before retiring in 2000 and joining NATS at Swanwick.
We now have a second envelope which takes most of the backbone of our general private Hot Air Balloon flying which has also been re-registered in-line with the group as G-TTFG and named 'Patricia' after our Late Grandmother. 'Beverley' these days is confined to static, night glows and tethered flights.
Our latest TFG
Balloon aquisition is G-DNGR manufactured by Colt, a 31,000 cu ft balloon known as a 'cloudhopper' and is specifically designed to carry only the Pilot.
As we continue to enjoy the thrill, freedom and versatility of both fixed wing flying and hot air ballooning 'TFG' emerged as our joint flying group logo.
